A very varied route that circles the entire Valle dei Laghi.
Signage: 1710. Valle dei Laghi Trail - Route
After departure from Vezzano, descend towards Fraveggio and Padergnone until Lake Toblino where the homonymous castle is located, perched on a rocky promontory in the lake. Then begin a steep climb on a secondary paved road (closed to traffic) towards Ranzo, a somewhat isolated village, but all the more charming for this. A spectacular road carved into the rock will take you back down the valley, from where you will then head northeast through the villages of Lon, Ciago, and Covelo until reaching Monte Terlago, alternating several times between road, mule track, and easy path. The route becomes a bit more challenging just before the picturesque Lake Lamar and before the village of Terlago. After Lake Terlago continue along a bike path that will take you back to the starting point in Vezzano.
Variants: 1710a. Terlago Variant
Make sure to enjoy the view on the road between Ranzo and Lon, where you can admire Lake Toblino with its charming castle, Lake Cavedine, and Lake Garda.

Start from the village of Vezzano (395 m asl). Take the SP-18dir., Via Dante, heading towards Fraveggio. After cycling uphill for about 650 meters, follow the sign to the left for the center of Fraveggio (440 m asl). At the first intersection on the left, take the downhill road which soon becomes a dirt path. Continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the bridge between SS-45bis and SP-84, which you will see ahead. Keep right and continue along the dirt road, which runs alongside SS-45bis for about 850 meters downhill. Cycle under the state road and follow the paved road Via S. Valentino, which leads to the village of Padergnone (280 m asl). Cross the village along Via XII Maggio until you reach the main road that crosses the village square, home to the town hall and church. Take Via Nazionale to the right and follow the underpass. Take SS-45bis, which continues towards the bridge and roundabout in the locality of Due Laghi (245 m asl). From here, continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach Castel Toblino. A dirt trail starts from the castle entrance and is lined with cypress trees. This is called the Castel Toblino - Ranzo route and is marked by an SAT 613 sign. It is about 3.5 kilometers long and climbs to the village of Ranzo. Once you reach the intersection (complete with a small shrine), turn left on the paved road through the meadows, passing a stone cross and an intersection leading to the church of S. Vigilio. Continue to the village center and to the church (with a Romanesque bell tower) (743 m asl). The route follows SP-18dir downhill, crossing the mountainside and offering splendid views of Valle dei Laghi and Lake Garda. After cycling through a charming rock tunnel, you will reach the village of Lon (544 m asl). Upon reaching the first houses, turn left onto Monte Gazza and arrive at the village square. Turn left again to follow the road towards Ciago and the forest. At the intersection with the dirt road, turn right following the signs to SAT trail 627 San Vili. You will descend into the village of Ciago (565 m asl), crossing it along Via al Belvedere, Via di S. Rocco, and then Via ai Segrai, before taking a steep trail that climbs to the village of Covelo (589 m asl), making sure to follow the signs for SAT 627. Continue along Via Nino Poòl heading north, passing in front of the church, and finally arriving at an intersection. Continue on the road towards Ariòl uphill for just over 1 kilometer until you reach the village of Maso Ariòl (654 m asl). Here you will find signs for SAT trail 627. At the fork in the village, take the left road and continue uphill to Maso Parisoi. Continue following SAT 627 until you reach the upper area of the village of Monte Terlago (750 m asl). After a short uphill stretch towards Prada, a dirt road will take you through a beautiful meadow. At the intersection, leave SAT 627 and join SAT 682. After 2 kilometers, you will reach the highest point of the route (935 m asl). You will come to another fork with a dirt road. Leave SAT 682 and descend steeply for about 650 meters towards Lake Lamar until reaching another dirt road with a less steep descent to Lake Lamar (714 m asl). Cycle around the lake on the north side and descend the steep slope following SAT 627. At the intersection at the end of the hill (775 m asl), leave SAT 627 and follow the dirt road (with various ups and downs) through the Faeda forest until you reach the Laghi di Lamar campsite after about 3 kilometers (730 m asl). Continuing on SAT 615, descend until you intersect the forest road leading to the village of Terlago. Follow the forest road downhill to the beginning of the village (455 m asl), then turn left towards Val Manega. You will reach an intersection and the paved road Via Fratelli Negriolli, which leads to the north side of Lake Terlago. The pavement ends at an intersection. Keep right and a few meters later, take the trail on the right that descends to the lake shore. On the right, follow the road that runs along the west bank of the lake and continue until you reach Via al Lago. On the other side of the road, you will see the start of a cycle and pedestrian path running along the south side of the lake, until it intersects SP-18, near the church of S. Pantaleone. After crossing the road, continue along the cycle and pedestrian path for 5.6 kilometers until the village of Vezzano, starting point.
– You can shorten the route to 29 kilometers (maximum elevation gain of 797m) by taking the SP-18dir linking Fraveggio to Lon. Instead of turning towards the center of Fraveggio about 650 meters after the start of the route, continue along the main road, with some wide curves, climbing for about 1.5 kilometers until the village of Lon, where you can join the route described above.
– Another option is to leave the route towards Maso Ariòl. Follow the main road through the village and you will reach SP-18, which leads to Monte Terlago. At Vallene, head towards the Laghi di Lamar campsite. This detour is about 2.1 kilometers long. If you take this shortcut, you will reduce the route to 32 kilometers, with an elevation gain of 866m.
– If you take both shortcuts, the route is about 20 kilometers long, with an elevation gain of 471 meters.
Pietramurata, Sarche, the lakes of Toblino and Santa Massenza (Due Laghi bus stop) and Vezzano are connected by the 205 intercity bus line (Riva del Garda – Sarche – Trento towards other Garda Trentino locations).
