Dog friendly holidays

Garda Trentino dog friendly holidays

From the shores of Lake Garda to the mighty Dolomites, and from the blue waters of Lake Ledro to the green vineyards of Valle dei Laghi, your four-legged friends can enjoy themselves on holiday in Garda Trentino, too!

There are several dog-friendly areas in Garda Trentino. Bau Beach lets four-legged friends frolic in the lake and along the waterways. After all, dogs need to take a refreshing dip in the lake during the summer months, too!

Beaches and regulation:

  • Riva del Garda: From June 20th to September 10th passage is allowed only on the paved footpath, but not on the beach.
  • Torbole/Lido di Arco: From June 1st to September 15th passage is allowed only on the paved footpath, but not on the beach.

Bau beaches:

  • Your dogs are welcome on board local buses and boats. Ticket prices vary depending on size. Make sure to ask at the ticket office!
  • Bus&Go, Garda Trentino’s new on-demand bus service, also welcomes dog on board. Download the app for instructions on how to use the service.
  • Enjoy an easy yet super fun day out by taking a ride in the panoramic lift up to the Bastion. Dogs ride for free.
  • Bring enough water for your dog, they need to drink more frequently in hot weather.
  • Pick up your dog poo and throw away bags in the appropriate bins. Use biodegradable bags . It’s a small ask but it makes a big difference!
  • Always keep your dog on a short lead, whether you’re in town or in the mountains. It is important to keep your dog safe when passing other animals.
  • A muzzle may be required in some places so make sure to bring one with you.
  • Plenty of museums, restaurants, and indoor facilities welcome dogs. Check online or pick up the phone before visiting.
