Perched at 2,059 metres on Monte Altissimo, in the Monte Baldo range, this mountain hut offers one of the most stunning 360-degree views over northern Lake Garda and the surrounding peaks. During World War I, Monte Altissimo was part of the Italian front line, and still today the area bears visible traces of that past — trenches, paths and military constructions can be seen around the refuge.
Thanks to its panoramic location and rich history, Rifugio Damiano Chiesa is a much-loved destination for hikers and nature lovers exploring Garda Trentino.
Run by a friendly local family, the hut welcomes visitors with traditional mountain dishes and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy the incredible views with a hearty lunch, or book in advance for dinner, special occasions or overnight stays.
