From 5 September to 8 November, the Casa degli Artisti “Giacomo Vittone” presents a new exhibition dedicated to Gino Pancheri (Trento, 1905–1943), continuing its exploration of the theme of women in art developed over recent years.
Curated by Roberta Bonazza, the exhibition "Gino Pancheri. Female Figures" brings together a selection of works in which the Trentino painter portrays women in their everyday lives, immersed in suspended and contemplative atmospheres.
Silent figures, often captured in moments of waiting, reveal the artist’s gentle yet intense poetic vision.
The exhibition offers an opportunity to rediscover Pancheri’s exploration of the human figure and colour, alongside a small section devoted to landscapes, another central theme in his work.
Trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Pancheri developed his artistic language particularly during the 1930s, also through encounters with figures such as Giacomo Manzù, Carlo Carrà and the poet Alfonso Gatto.
In 1938, Pancheri moved to Tuscany in search of broader landscapes and warmer colours.
His artistic journey came to a premature end in 1943, when he lost his life during the bombing of Trento.
