Punto di partenza
Passo Durone
Directions
Start from Passo Durone and follow the SAT 463 signs for Malga Stabio-Cima Sera. The mountain road presents steep and rocky parts and winds its way through a forest of conifer and broad-leaved trees. After a passing an image of S. Antony’s nestled in the rocky wall, you will arrive at Malga Stabio. The farmstead is immersed in vast green pastures, with a watering hole in the middle used by cattle during the alpine grazing season. The view is simply breath-taking spanning across Carè Alto, Presanella and above them, in the east, Cima Sèra with its cross. Those eager to climb Cima Sèra (1 hour and 20 minutes) will need to cross the pastures heading south-east, enter the woods and reach the Piazzola pass, another spectacular vantage point to admire the Val Marcia with its peaks Dòss della Torta, Gavardina and Cogorna. Here, the track deviates to the left through a forest of beech trees to exit onto open fields continuing along the south ridge of Cima Sèra. The view is truly magnificent spanning across all Trentino’s peaks from the Adamello to theOrtles, from the Brenta range to the Alps.
How to get there
Follow the directions to Durone Pass. About 10 km far from Ponte Arche/Comano Terme.
Where to park
Free parking at Durone Pass.
There is nowhere to stop off for refreshments along the trail so you are advised to bring water and something to eat

You need to be wearing the right clothing and take the proper gear when you go hiking in the mountains. Even on relatively short easy outings make sure to take all you need so you don't run into trouble if things take an unexpected turn, for example a storm blows up or you have a sudden drop in energy levels.

What should you take when you go on a hike?

What you should have in your rucksack (for a day trip a 25/30L capacity should do):

  • water canteen (1L)
  • snacks (e.g. mixed dried fruit or chocolate)
  • First aid kit
  • windproof jacket
  • fleece
  • change of t-shirt and socks (in a plastic bag)
  • make sure to wear or at least bring a pair of long trousers
  • hat
  • sun screen
  • sunglasses
  • gloves
  • whistle to attract attention in an emergency

Emergency telephone number:  112

Make sure you're wearing the right footwear for the trail and season. The going can get rough and rocky underfoot and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. When wet, a grassy slope, rocky slab or steep trail can be dangerous unless you are wearing the proper footwear.

And finally... ... don't forget to bring your camera! You'll need it to capture the stunning views you come across all over Garda Trentino. And if you like, you can share your memories with us at #GardaTrentino.
