Safety Tips

1. Choose routes according to your physical and technical abilities, researching the area to visit, the usability of the paths, and equipping yourself with an appropriate hiking map.
2. Provide clothing and equipment suitable for the effort and duration of the excursion, and carry in your backpack what is needed for any emergency situations and a first aid kit.
3. It is advisable not to undertake a mountain hike alone. In any case, inform someone of your planned route and expected return.
4. Check the weather forecast and constantly observe weather developments.
5. If in doubt, turn back. Sometimes it is better to give up rather than find yourself in difficulty due to bad weather or having faced challenges exceeding your strength, skills, or equipment.
6. Avoid unnecessarily leaving the path or taking shortcuts.
7. All listed routes develop in a natural environment. Walking them means accepting the risk of practicing a sport in nature.

Departure from the Pieve tourist office. We enter the village and take Via Rabaglia, then the SAT 454 path. At the first hairpin bend, instead of continuing on the numbered path, we take the route on the right. We continue along this path to Mezzolago and descend along Via Dromaè. After a few hundred meters, we take the dirt path on the left and enter the forest. Upon reaching the top of the climb, we turn right and continue on a flat path. Reaching the Fior di Bella area, with a barn in sight, we take the path on the left and start climbing again until reaching the forest road. Before the hairpin bend, we take the path on the right and begin descending towards Molina. Upon reaching the junction with the path to the Madonnina, we recommend a small detour on the path to the right to enjoy the view. We reach the paved road and descend along Via dei Colli to the Pile dwellings Museum. We continue along the lake shore and at the lime kiln we take the path on the left that goes up into the forest. We follow the path until reaching Pur near Via Casarino. We turn right and at the fork take the small road on the left leading to Malga Cita. We reach the start of Ledro Land Art, enter the pine forest, cross the dry stream bed and take the uphill path. We reach the forest road and turn right. We continue on the forest road until reaching Via al Roccolo and descend towards Pieve, following first the road then the cycle-pedestrian path.

The Ledro Valley is connected to Riva del Garda by the extra-urban bus line 214 (Riva-Valle di Ledro-Storo).

Mountain hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even for relatively short and easy outings, it is always best to be well equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to cope with unforeseen events such as, for example, a sudden thunderstorm or a drop in energy.

What to bring for a mountain trek?

In your backpack (usually a 25/30L is recommended for a day hike) it is good to bring:

• water bottle (1L)
• snack (e.g., dried fruit or chocolate)
• first aid kit
• windbreaker jacket
• a fleece sweater
• spare T-shirt and socks (preferably sealed in a plastic bag)
• worn or at least carried in the backpack a pair of long pants
• hat
• sunscreen
• sunglasses
• gloves
• whistle to be located in case of emergency

Wear footwear suitable for the route and season. The ground of the trails can be uneven or rough, and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from twists. A grassy slope, a rock slab, or a steep path, if wet, can become dangerous without proper footwear.
