A long descent towards the Sarca valley, from the dense woods of Monte Calino to the countryside surrounding Ceniga, nestled on the banks of the Sarca river.

This stage briefly represents a steady descent towards the Sarca valley, with a single short climb before returning to the valley floor. You will always walk immersed in green woods, where from time to time a sudden thinning of branches allows a view of the Lower Sarca and Lake Garda. It is a route that does not require mountaineering skills, only good training.

The path touches the Croce di Bondiga, a panoramic point and a resting place for hikers as well as numerous bikers who ride the trails of Garda Trentino: from here it is possible to admire the entire Upper Garda area.

Shortly before arriving at Ceniga, the Medium Loop passes through the area of Laghel, a sheltered little valley known locally for its "lake that isn’t there". After heavy rains, a lake forms that is then reabsorbed by the ground and nourishes an underlying spring.

Further information and useful links

The route is generally passable all year: only in the winter months is it sometimes possible to find snow along the path. For this reason, it is always advisable to check the conditions of the trail if you want to hike between November and March. In this period, it is also recommended to verify the openings of refuges and accommodation facilities.
