1. Choose routes according to your physical and technical abilities, researching the area to be visited, the accessibility of the trails, and equipping yourself with an appropriate hiking map.
2. Provide suitable clothing and equipment for the effort and length of the hike and carry in your backpack the necessary items for emergency situations and a first aid kit.
3. It is advisable not to go hiking alone in the mountains. In any case, tell someone the route you plan to take and notify them of your return.
4. Check the weather forecast and constantly monitor the weather development.
5. If in doubt, turn back. Sometimes it is better to give up rather than find yourself in difficulty due to bad weather or engaging in challenges beyond your strength, abilities, or equipment.
6. Avoid unnecessarily leaving the trail and taking shortcuts.
7. All listed routes take place in a natural environment. Hiking them means accepting the risk related to practicing a sport in nature.

You start from the church and go up along the main road of the village. You walk for a short stretch on the forest road and turn left to take the botanical path. The signs along the route provide information on the trees, flowers, and plants of Dromaè. At the end of the botanical path, you return to the forest road and go up to the viewpoint. From there, the road goes down for a short stretch and then goes up again to the casinei. You return to Mezzolago following the forest road.

Mountain hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even for relatively short and easy outings, it is always better to be well equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to cope with unexpected events such as sudden thunderstorms or loss of energy.

What to bring for a mountain trekking?

In the backpack (for a day hike usually a 25/30L is recommended) it is advisable to bring:

• water bottle (1L)
• snack (e.g., dried fruit or chocolate)
• first aid kit
• windbreaker jacket
• a fleece sweater
• spare t-shirt and socks (preferably closed in a plastic bag)
• worn or at least carried in the backpack a pair of long trousers
• cap
• sunscreen
• sunglasses
• gloves
• whistle to get attention in case of emergency

Wear shoes suitable for the route and season. The trail surface may be irregular or uneven and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. A grassy slope, a rock slab, or a steep path, if wet, can become dangerous without appropriate footwear.
