Monte Brione isn’t just any mountain. It rises like a green wedge between lake and peaks, separating Riva del Garda from Torbole. At 376 metres high, with steep cliffs on its eastern side, it offers stunning views over the Sarca plain and Lake Garda.
But its value goes far beyond the landscape. Monte Brione is home to one of the richest concentrations of plant life in the Garda area – hundreds of species growing in a surprisingly small space, including more than 20 types of wild orchids. It’s all thanks to its unique location, where the lake’s sub-Mediterranean climate meets the alpine environment, creating a rare and delicate balance.
That’s why the top of the mountain is now a protected Nature Reserve – a small, suspended ecosystem between sky, earth and lake, just waiting to be explored on foot, with curiosity and care.
