Cafè Saval

The construction of this building dates back to the end of the 1700s and was originally intended to host a wealthy and large peasant family.
In 1910 the Austro-Hungarian Military Command, which built large defensive fortifications on the ridges of Cima d'Oro peak, Cima Parì and beyond are located in Mezzolago.
An enterprising young lady named Lidia Tamburini from Arco is employed as a maid at the Austrian Headquarters, but she actually was a spy and worked for the Italian, and secretly Informed the Italians’ military stationed on the other front (Passo Nota) about the Austrian activities.

A few years after the end of the First World War Lidia, who married in the meantime the owner of this building transformed (1932) the property into the "Bellavista" hotel.
The "lady of the house", thanks to her knowledge of foreign languages, maintained relationships with innumerable foreign travelers and worldly personalities, including the poet-soldier Gabriele D'Annunzio who slept there in disguise several times during his visits to the arch. Giancarlo Maroni designer of his gorgeous mansion Vittoriale in Gardone Riviera.
The "Bellavista" hotel is also very popular with the locals for the dancing parties and for playing cards and bowls. Mrs Lidia managed the hotel business until the 60s.

Since 2017 Tatiana, GianMario and their family have been renovating part of the building naming it "Ledro Lake Suites" creating new tourist apartments.
In 2023, the offer will be enriched with the addition of the new Café Saval, which by referring to the art deco style of the original establishment born in 1932 wants to pay homage to its memory.
