The journey of the Milano Cortina 2026 flame, which began on 4 December in front of the Temple of Hera in Olympia with the traditional lighting ceremony, continues across Italy with 60 stops reaching every province, before arriving in Milan on 5 February for the Opening Ceremony.
During the 42nd leg, which will end in Verona, the flame will also stop in Garda Trentino, passing through Riva del Garda, Arco and Torbole sul Garda.
The flame will arrive in Piazza Catena at 11:30 a.m. and then cross the town, reaching the lakeside promenade in Via Giancarlo Maroni, where it is expected at 12:00 p.m.
At 12:15 p.m. the flame will continue by lake from Circolo Vela Arco towards Torbole, escorted by the boats of the law-enforcement agencies that ensure daily safety and surveillance on Lake Garda (Polizia di Stato, Vigili del Fuoco, Guardia Costiera), together with the boats of the Garda Trentino sailing clubs – from club members and sailing school youngsters to racing teams.
This passage on the lake has a strong symbolic meaning: Lake Garda is in fact the only point where all three Olympic regions of the 2026 Games meet: Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Veneto and Lombardy.
In Torbole, the flame will reach the small harbour at around 12:40 p.m. and then continue on foot along the final stretch to the town hall, offering the public another chance to greet it.
Among the torchbearers of this 42nd leg are also cyclists Paola Pezzo, Elia Viviani and Elena Cecchini, together with Moscow 1980 Olympic champion Sara Simeoni.
A unique moment for Garda Trentino, called to show its enthusiasm and support for the Games and for sport.
