From 4 to 6 September, Piazza di Vezzano comes alive for the traditional Vezzano Festival, the Votive Feast of San Valentino: three days of music, good food, entertainment and activities for all ages.
There will be plenty for children to enjoy, including inflatables, baby dance, face painting and candy floss, while adults can test their skills in the evening quiz and the traditional Gioco dei Piroloti, with more than 7,000 prizes up for grabs throughout the festival.
Food also takes centre stage, with a different speciality every day: paella on Friday, porchetta on Saturday, and traditional polenta and stew on Sunday prepared by the Alpini, together with orzotto by the Gruppo Anziani. Throughout the festival, the Pro Loco will also run a well-stocked food and drink stand, while traditional fortaie will satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth.
Music will accompany the entire festival, with ’80s and ’90s rock, DJ sets, musical aperitifs and performances by the local band and dance schools.
There will also be time for tradition and devotion with Holy Mass and the solemn procession to the Sanctuary of San Valentino, two important moments of the votive feast.
The event is made possible by the collaboration of Vezzano’s local associations and volunteers, who help keep this tradition alive year after year.
