MusicaRivaFestival Returns: The 41st Edition Celebrates Great Music, Education, and Local Heritage
MusicaRivaFestival returns this year with its 41st edition, offering a rich and diverse program designed to engage audiences of all ages and musical tastes. From symphonic music to light music, from dixieland to solo recitals, from international youth orchestras to local talents, from emerging artists to veterans of the global music scene—the Festival reaffirms itself as a cultural landmark in the Upper Garda region and beyond.
Alongside the performances, a key component of the festival is its focus on advanced training for young musicians aiming for an international career. The educational program includes high-level masterclasses in musical performance, as well as a range of workshops geared toward a broader and less specialized audience.
Among the highlights are violin-making workshops—immersive experiences where participants can build musical instruments from scratch. A wide array of activities will also be led by young musicians from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, who will guide instrumental workshops ranging from pop singing to modern guitar, designed to bring young people—and not only them—closer to the world of popular music. The program is further enriched by sessions on yoga and Indian music, and the Atelier Liuteria events, offering insights into the art of instrument making in a relaxed, informal setting, always accompanied by afternoon aperitifs featuring local delicacies.
The Festival will also offer an opportunity to rediscover the area's stunning surroundings, thanks to events staged in iconic and scenic locations—not only in Riva del Garda, but also in Tenno, Arco, Stenico, Fiavè, Campo Lomaso, Limone, Malcesine, and Trento—enhancing the artistic, natural, and cultural heritage of the region. Highlights include some of the most captivating venues in the area, such as the Fraglia della Vela, Spiaggia degli Olivi, Lido Palace Park, Varone Waterfall, the BoscoArteStenico trail, Campo Lomaso Monastery, Riva del Garda Fortress, Forte Garda, and the MAG – Alto Garda Museum, among many others.
Faithful to its commitment to environmental sustainability, MusicaRivaFestival favors the use of natural settings, respectfully enhanced through natural light, authentic acoustics, and low-impact technical solutions. Special attention is also given to vulnerable groups, with dedicated assistance services and customized events to ensure everyone can fully experience the Festival.
What’s new in 2025
One of the main highlights of this edition is the launch of the Misa a Buenos Aires – Misa Tango choral workshop, directed by the renowned Argentine composer Martín Palmeri. The project will bring together hundreds of singers from across Europe and will culminate in two extraordinary concerts, in Riva del Garda and Madonna di Campiglio.
Also returning is the highly anticipated orchestral conducting course, led by internationally acclaimed conductor Markus Stenz, featuring the resident Orchestra delle Alpi. This is a top-tier educational opportunity for young conductors to work closely with professional musicians in a truly unique setting.
Much more awaits in the full program, soon to be available on the official website.
