On Saturday, October 25 at 6:00 PM, the Giovanni Segantini Civic Gallery in Arco will inaugurate the exhibition “The Mountain of Visions. Giovanni Segantini. The Birth of a Myth”, a curatorial project by Niccolò D’Agati, with the participation of Mirella Carbone, Artistic Director of the Segantini Museum in St. Moritz.
Through artworks, documents, and previously unseen materials, the exhibition aims to explore the artistic legacy of Giovanni Segantini and the development of the myth that has grown around his figure over time. A unique opportunity to rediscover the profound bond between the artist and the mountains — both a real and symbolic place at the heart of his poetic vision.
For the first time in Arco, one of Segantini’s most iconic masterpieces will be on display: the charcoal and gold self-portrait, which has become the most widely recognized and representative image of the artist. A powerful work that encapsulates the spirit and vision of one of the great masters of the 19th century.
