Three concerts in three exceptional venues to relive the charm of the 18th century through the music of two of its greatest composers: F. J. Haydn and W. A. Mozart.
The program features two iconic works: Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D major and Mozart’s world-famous Eine kleine Nachtmusik.
Completing the program is a lesser-known but fascinating piece: the Symphony in C major by Maksym Berezovsky, an 18th-century Ukrainian composer who studied with G. B. Martini in Bologna. His inclusion is also a tribute to Ukrainian cultural heritage and, symbolically, to the resilience of its people.
The music will be performed by Cappella Benacensis, an ensemble composed of musicians from the Alto Garda, Valle dei Laghi, and Giudicarie Esteriori areas, joined by pianist Valeria Meduri, winner of several national competitions.
The concert goes beyond traditional performance by integrating readings inspired by 18th-century literature and themes suggested by the music itself:
the Austro-Hungarian world (Haydn’s Hungarian-style rondo)
the serenade tradition (Mozart)
the Tsarist Empire of Berezovsky’s time
The Magic of the 18th Century offers a unique opportunity to explore a splendid musical era with fresh, creative, and meaningful insight.
