The Windsurfer is the original one-design windsurf board, born in the 1970s.
Following a redesign and construction update in 2018, it is experiencing a revival. Its history is also linked to Circolo Surf Torbole, which hosted the European Championship in 1980, followed by two Italian Championships, the Windsurfer World Trophy in 2018 and 2019, and the European Championship in 2024. In 2026, the Windsurfer returns to Torbole for the Italian Championship.
