Arco relives the elegant and refined atmosphere of the 19th century with the Grand Ball of the Archduke and the Imperial Dinner, a special evening that brings together history, music, dance, and tradition.
The event will open at 5:30 pm with a parade through the streets of the historic center, led by the Praso Musical Band (TN), followed by performers in 19th-century costumes from the “Comitato Tradizioni Usi e Costumi Arcensi – Gruppo Arco Asburgica”, accompanied by other historical dance groups from Trentino and beyond.
Starting from 8:00 pm, Piazza Segantini will become the stage for a unique performance: the dance group will perform choreographies that were actually danced at the end of the 19th century, involving the audience in the historical dances. The choreographed moments will alternate with musical interludes by the Praso Band, performing live waltzes and pieces to set the rhythm for the dancers.
The evening will be enriched by the presence of the "Austrian Court", portrayed by performers from the Arcensi Traditions Committee, who will bring to life historical characters that once passed through Arco between the 19th and 20th centuries.
In the heart of the city, between Piazza Segantini and Piazza delle Canoniche, themed areas will recreate settings and traditions from the time: the court’s clothing and accessories stand, the tea salon, sewing and embroidery demonstrations, a picnic area, traditional wooden games for children hosted by performers in peasant costumes, as well as exhibition spaces with local artists and sellers of 19th-century clothing.
Taste will also play a key role: in Piazza delle Canoniche, guests can take part in the Imperial Dinner, managed by the Luzzani Culinary Laboratory, which will serve dishes inspired by imperial tradition, accompanied by bar service and an evocative atmosphere.
The event will conclude at 11:00 pm after an evening of music, dance, and culture, bringing Arco back to its 19th-century grandeur in a journey through timeless history and reenactment.
