There is an invisible thread connecting nature, people, traditions and the future. It is the thread of biodiversity.

The Agricultural and Food Biodiversity Festival, promoted in the heart of the Valle dei Laghi by the Biodistrict in collaboration with the Provincial Office for Organic Production and the Rural Development Service, invites you to see the territory from a new perspective.

From June 3 to 7, the Valle dei Laghi (Trentino) hosts a rich programme celebrating the National Day of Agricultural and Food Biodiversity.

An event dedicated to what we often take for granted, yet what our daily wellbeing depends on: the richness of life, landscapes, knowledge and communities.
A journey through healthy food culture, landscapes, sustainable agriculture, local crafts and mindful tourism.

Biodiversity is explored not only as a natural heritage to protect, but as a true culture of the common good.
Every choice, every action and every daily habit can help preserve the balance between people and nature.

The festival tells this story: a deep connection between ecosystems, traditions, memory and future, a living heritage that belongs to all of us.

An opportunity to meet, listen, reflect and rediscover the authentic value of the territory through its products and traditions.

Walter Nicoletti’s latest book takes centre stage in this BookDrink event, a format that blends literary culture with the pleasure of a winery aperitif. Nicoletti explores the Alps as a territory that has undergone profound transformations over the centuries while preserving a strong identity. Today’s challenges, from climate change to demographic shifts, from economic to environmental choices, call for a deeper reflection on what the Alps represent: a living laboratory to understand the past, the present and, above all, the future.

FROM SOIL TO GRAPE
For a more balanced, healthier and more productive vineyard
A talk and discussion focused on vines, vineyards, wine and biodiversity. An engaging journey connecting land and culture with Martina Broggio, agronomist and oenologist specialised in sustainable viticulture.ù
In collaboration with the Trento Biodistrict, the event highlights how the vine is not an isolated organism, but a “super organism” that interacts closely with soil microorganisms to protect itself and absorb water. Soil fertility depends on the richness of its microbiota, which thrives when cultivated with care and respect.
Participants include Martino Andreoli, agronomist collaborating with Cantina Toblino, and Giuliano Micheletti, winegrower and president of the Trento Biodistrict.

COOKING AT A SLOW PACE
Walk, gather, cook.
Cooking is much more than simply preparing and eating a dish. It is an art that engages all the senses, combines ingredients and also has an impact on the environment.
Each participant will receive a basket that we will fill together while walking through nearby fields and woodland. We will collect seasonal products and, once back at La Casina, combine them with organic products from local producers to create a delicious aperitif, paired with Nosiola wine from Cantina Toblino.

Walking among wild herbs and dry stone walls
With Cecilia Tanghetti, founder of the Capra&Cavoli association, specialised in wild herb foraging and ethnobotany.
A light trekking experience in the Frassenè area in search of biodiversity and edible wild herbs, discovering their properties and uses. Back at the nursery, the collected ingredients will be paired with local farm products to create tastings, accompanied by a glass of Nosiola wine from Cantina Toblino.

Biotrekking
Above the village of Calavino lies the wide pine forest of Gazzo dei Pini, an area once used for haymaking, crossed by a network of paths leading to the slopes of Monte Bondone, where the small but charming Lake Lagolo awaits.
At Bar Bufo, overlooking the lake, a brunch prepared with local farm products and wines from the Valle dei Laghi will be served.
Medium difficulty trail, elevation gain 530 m, distance 10 km round trip, duration حوالي 6 hours.
Guided by Paolo Piffer, certified mid mountain guide.
