Dame in un mondo di scacchi

At Castel Drena, Dame in a World of Chess brings to life a cultural project dedicated to the feminine universe, blending art, symbolism and storytelling.

The exhibition features works by Lorena Bombardelli, Lara Mirto and Sara Rigotti, artists who evoke archetypal figures and ancient imagery, inspired by myths such as the Fates, weaving the thread of human life through their creations.

Events at Castel Drena

• Sunday, June 21 at 10:00 am the inauguration of the exhibition is scheduled, accompanied by the dances of the FairyRing group, which evokes atmospheres inspired by the Celtic and medieval world.
  This will be followed by a convivial moment with a zero-kilometre aperitif prepared by the La Quadra farm in Drena.
   
• Saturday, July 18 at 8:00 pm Giada Rigatti will guide us through the world of witches, often mentioned but rarely truly understood.
  Giada graduated in Medieval Philosophy in Trento with a thesis on druidism, and continued her studies at the Alma Mater Studiorum, where she graduated with honours in the History of Christianity and Churches, presenting a thesis on demonology in medieval Scholasticism.
  She further pursued her academic path at the University “La Sapienza” in Rome, graduating with honours both in Methodology of Religious Studies and in Modern History, within the master’s degree in Historical Sciences, with a thesis on the text Daemonologie.
   
• Sunday, July 19 at 10:00 am – The Little Shaman
  Paola Gabrielli, born and raised in Cles in Val di Non, after high school and musical studies in singing and piano, graduated in Modern Literature in Trento with a specialisation in Art History.
  She explored the world of ancient writings in all its forms: from the cataloguing of ancient books to the study of private and chancery documents, obtaining a diploma in Archival Science, Palaeography and Diplomatics at the State Archive of Bolzano, and later moving into historical research with the University and the Historical Museum of Trento.
  She has worked for municipalities, the Province and museums in the cultural field and collaborates with various local associations. In recent years, alongside writing, she has worked as a literature teacher in high schools and as an art teacher (mandala painting), both locally and in schools, organising workshops for children and young people, as well as developing deep experience in dance and painting.
  Among her publications: in 2016 the novel I sommersi e i salvati (Curcu & Genovese), from which a single and a videoclip were produced (the novel was also selected in November 2021 for the International Navarro Prize); in 2018 she published L’Ombra di Omero, in 2020 Il gatto di Omero (Fontana editore), and in 2021 Voci dalla montagna.
