The route is very scenic thanks to the fact that for a long stretch it passes over the Limarò canyon, from which you can enjoy an excellent panorama.
Day hike with a stop in the village of Ranzo. Exposed path to be traveled with particular attention and challenging due to the distance. The first stretch follows the San Vili path, from Deggia to the village of Ranzo. The return is by the dirt forest road that runs for a while parallel to the San Vili path but higher, up to the locality Dos della Croce where you take the left path 613 leading back to Deggia.

Difficulty: E (hiking)
The route starts from the Deggia area, near the church. Take the small road on the right and follow the signs for the SAT path “San Vili” 613 towards Ranzo.
You reach the village of Ranzo; after reaching the upper part of the settlement, continue along the road towards the locality “Bael”, first flat then climbing until you reach a wooded area of pines and larches. At the intersection with the forest road, keep left and with various ups and downs first reach Località Bael, once frequented and used for grazing and hay cutting, with its characteristic “mountain houses” which were used to shelter livestock in spring and autumn, now partly renovated for residential use. Then to Località Argiè and Località Pezol (characterized by meadows and houses) up to Località Doss della Croce. Here, to return to Deggia, follow path 613 on the left which descends to the Santuario della Madonna di Deggia, a frequented place of worship dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Caravaggio and the starting point.
The nearest stop to the route is San Lorenzo in Banale (about 5 km). Suburban line 208 (Ponte Arche - San Lorenzo in Banale - Molveno).
Updated information on schedules and routes on the Trentino Trasporti website.
From Ponte Arche/Comano Terme follow the road towards S. Lorenzo in Banale. From here you reach the hamlet of Moline which you pass to climb towards Deggia along a characteristic cobbled road. Upon reaching the fountain, where the road turns sharply left, turn right to park near the shrine (10 km).
Free parking along the road to the hamlet of Moline/Deggia.
Mountain hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even for relatively short and easy outings, it is always better to be well equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to face unforeseen events such as a sudden storm or loss of energy.
What to bring for a mountain trek?
In the backpack (for a day hike a 25/30L pack is usually recommended) it is good to bring:
Wear footwear suitable for the route and season. The trail surface can be uneven or rough and a pair of boots will protect you from sprains. A grassy slope, a rock slab, or a steep trail, if wet, can become dangerous without proper footwear.
Finally... don't forget the camera! It will be useful to capture the hike and the countless breathtaking views that Garda Trentino hides around every corner. If you want to share your memories with us, you can use the hashtag #GardaTrentino
