Bocca de l’Ussol occupies the central position in the circle of mountains that surround Val Concei. The pass is the northernmost point of the Ledro Valley and is a natural balcony over the Giudicarie.
Cima Ussol is topped by a cross with a very particular shape. From there you can enjoy a wonderful view of nearby valleys and the pastures of Malga Guì. Under the pass, there are also some World War I trenchworks.

A short walk leads from Bocca de l’Ussol to Cima Gavardina. Legend tells of the fairy Gavardina, the valley's protective spirit. The wooden sculptures adorning the picnic area in front of Rifugio Al Faggio are inspired by her.

Mountain hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even on relatively short and easy outings, it is always better to be well-equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to face unexpected events such as a sudden storm or a drop in energy.
What to bring for mountain trekking?
In your backpack (for a day hike, a 25/30L pack is usually recommended) it is advisable to bring:
Wear footwear suitable for the route and season. The trail surfaces can be uneven or rough, and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. A grassy slope, a rock slab, or a steep path can become dangerous when wet without appropriate footwear.
Finally... don’t forget the camera! It will be useful to capture the hike and the countless breathtaking views that Garda Trentino hides around every corner. If you want to share your memories with us, you can use the hashtag #GardaTrentino
