Safety Tips
The information contained in this sheet is subject to inevitable changes, so no indication has absolute value. It is impossible to completely avoid inaccuracies or mistakes, considering the rapidity of environmental or weather changes that may occur. For this reason, we decline all responsibility for any changes the user may encounter. It is recommended, however, to check, before undertaking a hike, the state of the places and environmental or weather conditions.
From Stenico, by car, take the provincial road towards Ragoli. On this stretch, it is worth stopping to admire the waterfall of Rio Bianco. Continuing towards Ragoli, you reach the Lisàn bridge, near which is the junction for Val d' Algone, turn right and follow the valley floor road for about 2 km, until you reach a junction with a forest road branching to the right. Park in the clearing at the junction and start to climb the wide dirt road which rises through the woods and, after three hairpin bends, leads to the meadow at whose north-eastern edge stands the fort Credata, built in 1866 by the Garibaldian Giovanni Battista Sicheri of Stenico, awaiting (in vain) the Garibaldians to march again on Trento after the Bezzecca halt. The return to the car takes place via the ascent road.
There is no bus service to reach Val d'Algone.
From Ponte Arche/Comano Terme continue towards Stenico (3.5 km), by car take the provincial road towards Ragoli. Continuing towards Ragoli you reach the Lisàn bridge, where there is the junction for Val d' Algone, turn right and follow the valley floor road for about 2 km.
Partly on the access road to the trail.
Mountain hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even for relatively short and easy outings, it is always best to be well equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to face unforeseen events such as, for example, a sudden storm or a drop in energy.
What to bring for a mountain trek?
In the backpack (for a day hike, a 25/30L is generally recommended) it is advisable to bring:
Wear footwear suitable for the route and the season. The trail surface can be uneven or rough and a pair of boots will protect you from sprains. A grassy slope, a rock slab or a steep path, if wet, can become dangerous without proper footwear.
Finally... don't forget the camera! It will be useful to capture the hike and the countless breathtaking views that Garda Trentino hides around every corner. If you want to share your memories with us, you can use the hashtag #GardaTrentino
