Rifugio Don Zio Pisoni

Just a stone’s throw from the summit of Monte Casale (the most panoramic mountain in the valley), Rifugio don Zio Pisoni is located in a unique position, at 1600 metres above sea level with a panoramic view of the most beautiful peaks, lakes and valleys of Trentino. From the summit (1632m), just a few steps from the refuge, it is often possible to see the landscape that stretches from the extreme south of Lake Garda as far as the highest peaks of the Adamello range. Then, your gaze moving from the Brenta Group to the Paganella, you can also admire the many lakes hosted by the surrounding valleys.

One of the best times of the year you simply cannot afford to miss is the beginning of May, and springtime in general, when Monte Casale is at its best. When its many plants and herbs burst into spectacular bloom, the mountain will transport you to an unforgettable scenario. The magical, bright nights of the full moon are equally unmissable. Then, on the darker nights of the new moon you will easily be able to watch the stars and their constellations in a unique setting.

Our home-style kitchen offers hot meals from the Trentino tradition, made with raw materials and typical products from the local area. Our speciality is the unique dish offered by the refuge, featuring polenta from Storo, sauerkraut stew and melted cheese. If you are vegetarian or intolerant to certain ingredients, don't worry, we are sensitive to the various needs of our customers and you can always find an alternative that suits you! Don't forget to try our desserts, including the cakes, tarts and strudels that we bake with passion every morning!

A refuge not to be missed, in a breathtaking location and accessible to everyone: from the young to the young at heart. In fact, there are many ways to reach us, and various trails for arriving on foot and by bike, climbing or ascending one of the most famous vie ferrate:  "la Che Guevara". Finally, families and the less adventurous can reach us by car, parking conveniently close to the refuge; in this case, disregard the directions provided by Google Maps, which are not correct.
