Along the cycle path between Bezzecca and Tiarno di Sotto, the church appears almost unexpectedly, surrounded by the open meadows of Valle di Ledro.
It is one of the oldest churches in the valley and still preserves a quiet, intimate atmosphere.
From the outside it looks simple, but inside you’ll find its most valuable feature: a series of 14th- and 15th-century frescoes, brought back to light thanks to recent restoration work.
Among the saints depicted, the Madonna with Child and Saint Lucia stand out. The church is first mentioned in 1580 and was expanded in the following century with a small side chapel.
During the Battle of Bezzecca in 1866, it was used as a shelter by Garibaldi’s troops.
On the walls, next to the medieval frescoes, you can still see graffiti and carvings left by the soldiers.
A short but meaningful stop, easy to reach by bike or on foot along the cycle path.
