Fresh olive oil, a picnic and live music among Arco's olive trees

It's harvest time, and Arco's olive groves are the perfect setting for a relaxed afternoon outdoors. Bring a blanket, find your spot on the grass and enjoy a picnic among the olive trees, with live music setting the mood.

Join Slow Food's tasting experts to sample extra virgin olive oils from Garda Trentino's local mills. Discover their different aromas, characteristics and flavours, and get to know the new harvest one taste at a time.

For your picnic, Paolo Betti's Osteria 17 serves up street food made with locally sourced ingredients: puccia bread with extra virgin olive oil and porchetta, puccia with olive oil and a vegetable burger made with produce from Val di Gresta, or carne salada carpaccio. Pair your food with a local wine, craft beer or juice.

Providing the soundtrack to the afternoon are Stefano Menato on saxophone, Rudi Speri on guitar and Giordano Grossi on bass. The trio will bring together jazz classics and well-known pop melodies, reinterpreted in their own instrumental style.

How to reach the olive grove

• Join a guided walk: Take part in Lungo la via dell'oro verde, departing from Arco at 10:00.

• Walk independently: Follow the Sentiero dell'Olivo at your own pace.

• Arriving by car: Park near Parco delle Braile and continue on foot. Take the steps behind Hotel Hoody, turn left onto Via Lomego and then follow the gravel road leading to Dosso di Romarzollo.

Book by 17:00 on the day before the experience.
