A painting exhibition that, through a series of portraits of soldiers from the First and Second World Wars, illustrates how art continued to exist during wartime. Soldiers felt the need to be portrayed, perhaps because they feared they might not return home and wanted to leave a memory of themselves. Whenever possible, we will tell the story of the person portrayed or of the artist who created the painting.
