49° Mostra Ornitologica Internazionale Trentina

The Trentino Ornithological Association APS (AOT APS) is organizing the 49th edition of the Garda Aves Show, one of the most important ornithological events at both national and international level, taking place in Riva del Garda from October 21 to 25, 2026, at the Exhibition Centre in Via Baltera.

The primary goal of the association is to bring together breeders and bird enthusiasts in order to encourage and expand the breeding of all types of canaries, hybrids, and native bird species that can be raised in captivity, while also promoting ornithological and naturalistic awareness in schools and ensuring ongoing training for members and breeders.

Thanks to a high-quality exhibition, the event will host over 200 breeders and exhibitors, featuring 3,500–4,000 birds in competition. The jury will include international judges.

AOT APS is working to give the Garda Aves Show an international profile by submitting a request to the World Ornithological Confederation (C.O.M.) for official recognition and to host the European Championship for GH categories, dedicated to European fauna and their hybrids.

Event schedule:

• Wednesday, October 21 – Arrival and housing of birds
• Thursday, October 22 – Judging by FOI and C.O.M. experts
• Saturday, October 24 – Free guided tours for schools, cultural groups, and associations (around 150 participants expected), led by expert staff
• Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October – Open to the general public
  On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026, there will also be an exhibition and exchange event for cage and aviary birds. All breeders are welcome to take part, in compliance with current animal health and welfare regulations.

As per tradition, a training session for breeders will also be held, focusing on breeding techniques and the legal regulations concerning native European bird species, in order to support continued learning and excellence in the field.
