Gamberi – The Water Festival kicks off the Month of Taste, because every local excellence begins with the area’s most precious resource: water. In Comano, where water has always been a symbol of wellbeing and biodiversity, Gamberi celebrates the connection between the environment and local flavours, highlighting how the quality of local products also depends on the quality of the water.
On Sunday, 13 September, from 11 am to 5 pm, the Terme di Comano Park hosts La Cucina di Gamberi and stands showcasing Trentino producers, for a day dedicated to local excellence and sustainability. At 11 am, chef Andrea De Lillo leads the workshop “Water quality: from nature to the table”, combining cooking and tasting with a low environmental impact. Younger visitors can enjoy the Gioco del Gusto, a sensory journey through local aromas and flavours. Throughout the festival week, numerous restaurants and bars in the Giudicarie Esteriori will also offer themed dishes celebrating great taste and respect for the environment.
The festival combines different artistic forms of community and guest involvement. During the festival there will be literary presentations, theatre, musical and dance performances, citizen science activities and excursions, scientific conferences, talks on water-related topics. Each event will have its own target audience and the end result will be the contamination of ideas and good practices for widespread cultural growth on the theme of water. The festival will take place in Ponte Arche with activities throughout the valley. Terme di Comano and numerous extra-provincial partners are also involved, including the non-profit cultural association Global Network of Water Museums and some universities (Padova, Bologna, Trento, Ulan Bator) that are part of the festival's scientific committee.
