If you want to start the day with a SUP outing and watch the town centre wake up from the water, this is the tour for you!
From the start of the trip you go along the lake shore: you will find it full of sporty types in the early morning, taking advantage of the quiet and the cool temperatures, out for a run along the promenade or paddling across the calm water. As you draw closer to the town centre you will find another kind of early birds: people who like to read the newspaper sitting on a bench overlooking the lake or get all their morning errands done while getting the day off to a quiet start.
The tour continues, presenting you with a picture postcard view of the centre of Riva, until you come to the little beach on the D'Annunzio promenade where you can take a rest before starting out on the return trip
7 Tips to SUP in safety
The information on this chart is subject to inevitable variations, so this means that none of the indications are absolute. It is not entirely possible to avoid giving inexact or imprecise information, given how quickly environmental and weather conditions can change. For this reason we decline any responsibility for changes which the user may encounter. In any case, the hiker is advised to check the conditions of the places, environment and weather before setting out.
You leave from the slipway on the beach (Purfina) and paddle along the lovely beach of Riva del Garda in the direction of Sabbioni until you come to where the Rio Albola and Varone rivers merge and create a spectacular gravelly sandbank. The tropical colours blend with the alpine tones giving this place a magical feel.
Start off again and you can already glimpse Ca’ Rossa, keep paddling in this direction cutting across the area where boats are banned in the lovely gulf of Riva. Once you get to your destination you can explore the sheer walls and take a well-earned rest on the lovely little beach which lies below the D’Annunzio promenade.
From here you head straight back to Purfina.
The towns in Garda Trentino - Riva del Garda, Torbole sul Garda, Nago and Arco – are connected by a number of urban and intercity bus lines which will take you to the starting point or in the immediate surroundings.
