Now that you have explored the inner area, the route heads south again, towards the shores of Lake Garda, which dominates the last stretch of the GardaTrek Medium Loop
The last stage of the GardaTrek Medium Loop runs along the eastern side of Garda Trentino and ends with a spectacular view of Lake Garda.
In particular, a section of the Medium Loop follows the Busatte - Tempesta trail, one of the most loved and frequented routes in Garda Trentino. Its long iron stairs have become a distinctive feature of the landscape and the views over the lake are magnificent.
Along the route, you pass several points significant for the history of Garda Trentino, particularly related to the topic of the Great War (see more information). The Medium Loop actually retraces part of the front line of the First World War, where many remnants are still visible.
The Medium Loop route is fully signposted. However, it is advisable to pay particular attention to the stretch from Malga Zures to the Busatte-Tempesta trail and therefore obtain a good map of this area.

In the last part of the stage, you will follow the lake cycle-pedestrian path, next to the beach: in summer, a stop for a swim is a must!

From Bolognano, take the forest road that climbs along the slope up to Tre Croci, just after the Busa dei Capitani. From here, take the SAT 637 trail downhill towards Nago, cross the town center and take the SAT 601 "Peace Trail" to Malga Zures. Here, follow the signs to the right and the forest road crosses the slopes of Monte Altissimo up to the Varno spring. Now follow a steep path downhill. The route leads onto a forest road, then keep left until you reach the Busatte-Tempesta trail which you follow (in reverse) until you reach the Busatte park. From here it is just a short descent to Torbole sul Garda. Take the cycle path along the lake shore to return to the starting point.
Bolognano is connected by urban line 3 (Nago - Torbole sul Garda - Riva del Garda - Arco - Bolognano) to other places in Garda Trentino.
Free parking on Via Bianca Saibanti and Via della Repubblica in Bolognano.
You must wear the right clothing and bring the appropriate equipment when you go mountain hiking. Even for relatively short and simple outings, make sure to bring everything you need to avoid trouble if things take an unexpected turn, for example if a storm breaks out or you have a sudden drop in energy.
What should you bring when you go on a hike?
Your backpack (a capacity of 25/30L should be enough for a day hike) should contain:
Make sure to wear footwear suitable for the trail and the season. The terrain can become rough and rocky underfoot and a pair of trekking boots will protect you from sprains. If the ground is wet, a grassy slope, a rock slab or a steep path can be dangerous unless you wear appropriate footwear.
And finally... don't forget to bring the camera! You will need it to capture the breathtaking views you will encounter throughout Garda Trentino. And if you want, you can share your memories with us on #GardaTrentino.
