A fun trail for children and families suitable for the little ones.

Park the car at Passo Bordala and then jump into the saddle, following the signs for Rifugio Somator. The route develops with pleasant ups and downs between cultivated fields and beech and larch forests, is about 4 km round trip and has an altitude difference of 87 metres.

Once you reach the Somator refuge, you can enjoy the silence of the surrounding mountains and recharge your batteries to return to the uphill road, and in the blink of an eye you will reach your car.

Safety guidelines

ITRS - International Trail Rating System

The ITRS is an objective way to assess trails and routes from a biker’s perspective, evaluating four aspects:

·         Technical Difficulty: riding skill level needed

·         Endurance: combined effect of length, uphill and downhill

·         Wilderness: amount of planning required based on mobile phone reception, rescue options, water supply and wildlife

·         Exposure: consequences of a fall

Discover more about the ITRS system and check the classification of this tour in the photo gallery.

Safety Tips

1.         Always wear your helmet.

2.        Plan your ride.

5.        Ride slowly on crowded trails, overtake with politeness and respect.

6.       Cycle only on authorized and open trails.

7.        Avoid muddy trails in order not to damage them further.

8.       Respect public and private property.

9.       Always be self-sufficient.

10.     Do not cycle solo in remote areas.

This information is subject to inevitable variations, so none of these indications are absolute. It is not entirely possible to avoid giving inexact or imprecise information, given how quickly environmental and weather conditions can change. For this reason, we decline any responsibility for changes which the user may encounter. In any case, it is advisable to check environment and weather conditions before setting out.

Directions

The first section of the route, which leads from the green meadows of Passo Bordala to the Somator Refuge, is characterised by a false-flat, while the last section, about half a kilometre, becomes a little more challenging, but in the blink of an eye you will reach the refuge, a destination for a regenerating break for both adults and children, the latter of whom will be able to enjoy the beautiful weather and have fun in the playground surrounded by the green mountains of the Val di Gresta.

After the right recharge, it is time to return to the starting point and start the descent that will soon reach the Bordala Pass.

public transportation

The Gresta Valley area can be reached from the other centres of Garda Trentino by the extra-urban bus line 332 (Rovereto - Mori - Riva del Garda - Arco - Bolognano).

Once you reach the stop in Mori, we suggest you continue with a bike shuttle that will take you as far as Passo Bordala.
