The climb to Rifugio Stivo-Prospero Marchetti, and to the peak of Monte Stivo only 5 minutes away, is a great opportunity to enjoy a geography lesson in the outdoor: from this 360-degree outlook point (listing more than one hundred peaks!) the view stretches from Vallagarina to Lake Garda encompassing all the main peaks of the Oriental Alps: from the Adamello to the Cevedale, over to the Lagorai range and the Piccole Dolomiti (Little Dolomites). The mountain hut, built in 1906, has recently been reopened under the management of the young Alberto Bighellini following extensive renovations to improve the building structure and optimize energy consumption. The improvements include thermal & photovoltaic solar panels and a water cistern of 84 thousand litres capacity.
