Antoine Boyer & Yeore Kim
A guitar and a chromatic harmonica can contain a world far bigger than you might expect from a duo. Antoine Boyer and Yeore Kim come from distant geographical and musical backgrounds and first met in 2018 at the Gypsy Jazz Festival in Taipei. Boyer grew up immersed in gypsy jazz, playing from a very young age alongside some of its most respected musicians before going on to explore classical guitar. Korean musician Yeore Kim is a virtuoso of the chromatic harmonica, an instrument through which she reveals surprising melodic and tonal possibilities. Their meeting gave rise to a musical dialogue in which jazz, gypsy, classical, pop and improvisation are no longer separate categories. Following Tangram, the duo presents You and I, a project that brings the connection between the two musicians even more to the fore: standards, original compositions and reinterpretations become the material for a concert that is both intimate and virtuosic, where technique is never an end in itself but a way of creating a story told by two voices.
