The Greek word “PAN” represents the whole. In mythology, PAN embodies the spirit of all living creatures, the deity at the origin of existence and the incarnation of universal life. Homer tells of how his mother abandoned the god at birth. In our vision, this act of abandonment is echoed in the neglect of today’s artistic and cultural community—a situation that has worsened in recent times. These are forgotten worlds: art is seen as superfluous, philosophy as useless, and nature is suffocated by human dominance.
For us, PAN symbolizes the vitality and creative power that unites all forms of art and the love of knowledge. It supports the idea of a “Gesamtkunstwerk”—a total work of art—where the arts intermingle, communicate, and exist without rigid categories or sharp divisions. From this vision comes a program that brings together artists and philosophers from diverse fields, eager to experiment and challenge themselves. Essential to the festival is direct engagement with the public and the local area—an exchange of knowledge that flows in both directions. The festival welcomes people who thirst for change, who believe in the social and ethical impact of their work, and who trust in the virtuous cycle of art and philosophy.
The PAN Festival is dedicated to philosophy, dance, theatre, music, poetry, and nature. It creates opportunities for connection, dialogue, and reflection across generations, all with the goal of building a better society. It offers space, voice, and support to both established and emerging artists, researchers, and local producers.
