Beautiful all-mountain tour at the top of Monte Casale. Steep climb from Ponte Arche via Poia and Comano till the top of Monte Casale. Crossing on the path towards Malga Valbona to the San Pietro Refuge and back along the Val Lomasona.
One of the most panoramic bike tours in the whole Trentino is the route up to Monte Casale and along the crest line of Monte Brento. Northwards you can admire the stately  Brenta Dolomites, while to the west the wide snow-covered flanks of the Adamello and Presanella glaciers.

Punto di partenza
Ponte Arche
Directions
Start immediately for a long and at times steep climb on an asphalted forest road, from Ponte Arche/Terme di Comano through the villages of Poia and Comano to the wide plateau on the top of Monte Casale. The route of about 12 kilometers has an average gradient of 10 percent and a difference in altitude of about 1200 meters. From Monte Casale you can enjoy a breathtaking 360 degree panorama: seven lakes lie like sparkling diamonds in the mountainous landscape that surrounds them. (Lake Garda, Lake Cavedine, Lake Toblino, Lake Santa Massenza, Lake Molveno, Lake Terlago and Lake Nembia). At the end of the climb and after admiring the wonderful panorama, we continue for a technically interesting freestyle on a single trail on the southern ridge. In an alternation of paths and forest roads, you pass Monte Brento, frequented by base jumpers, and Malga Valbona before taking the fun "Sentiero dei Russi" towards San Giovanni. Lake Garda is ever closer and reachable by following the road to Bocca di Tovo and Croce di Bondiga. Once in Trains and at the San Pietro Refuge on Monte Calino, after almost 29 kilometers, take the way back, through the Forcella del Calino and a rather demanding path that descends into Val Lomasona. Once you reach the car park at the Malga Lomasona climbing crag, continue with a pleasant descent towards Ponte Arche. If you wish, you can indulge in the short but difficult forest path that descends to Ponte Arche after Poia. When you arrive in Ponte Arche as a reward, an excellent ice cream awaits you near the thermal park.
Riding your bike requires specific clothing and equipment, even for relatively short and easy trips. It is always better to be prepared… e.g. for bad weather or a drop your energy levels. The unexpected things also make up a part of the fun!

Remember to throughly evaluate the type of route you plan to do, the locations you plan to cross and the current season. Has it been raining? Attention: The paths may be slippery and require more caution.

What do I need to bring on my bike tour?
