One fruit, many stories
Visit Rango, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, and discover all the goodness of the Bleggio walnut, on its own and combined with local products.
Now a Slow Food Presidium, the Bleggio walnut is distinguished from other nuts by its sweet, spicy and very aromatic flavour, its thin shell and its small size. Cultivated for centuries, it is closely linked to the history of this area. For example, did you know that a 'war of nuts' was even fought in these parts at the end of the 16th century?
Walking the trail dedicated to this precious fruit is therefore tantamount to (re)discovering many little-known but incredibly fascinating stories and to immersing oneself in local tradition, moving from the cultivation areas to the table, where many local specialities await. Including, of course, various dishes made with nuts.
