Enchanted woods, good-natured giants, colourful lights and decorations in the windows... and the soft mantle that immediately makes Christmas what it is. In December the Ledro Valley turns into a book of tales that you can browse by candlelight to the notes of the village band, or listen to with a glass of mulled wine in front of one of the stalls in the historic centre.
And, if Christmas is the festival that children most look forward to, the main character of the Christmas story in the Ledro Valley is truly great. Advent in Bezzecca is dedicated to a giant named Gilli, a gentle fellow of almost three metres in height who used to travel round the courts and entertain the rulers of Europe in his circus clothes. In December, at his home in Bezzecca, he awaits curious eyes and contagious smiles for a souvenir photo on his armchair. After all, as we know, the best stories always have a touch of white magic!
