Safety guidelines
The information on this chart is subject to inevitable variations, so this means that none of the indications are absolute. It is not entirely possible to avoid giving inexact or imprecise information, given how quickly environmental and weather conditions can change. For this reason we decline any responsibility for changes which the user may encounter. In any case, the hiker is advised to check the conditions of the places, environment and weather before setting out.
Punto di partenza
Fiavé
Directions
From the main square in Fiavè, where you can park your car, take the San Zeno path, heading towards north; cross the village and when you arrive at the last houses turn left and walk through the countryside. Going straight ahead you will come to a crossing, take the path that unwinds along the edge of the woods, turn left and continue on this trail. You will arrive at the junction with SS n. 5 del Bleggio; cross it and reach the houses above, then keep going on the dirt road that leads to the little village of Cornelle. Go straight ahead when you reach the crossroad, leaving the burg on your right. Take “strada del Dus”; at the beginning this is a paved road, but then it becomes a dirt road and enters the forest, a wide beech and conifer wood, near a quite wet side of the mountain. Walk by two springs of water, then a flat road will take you to “Prà dei Borboni” and, after passing another spring, to Dus, an ancient hut used by shepherds that now is a rustic house. From Dus, after about 100 metres, turn left along the dirt road that with a steep descent leads to SS 421 dei laghi di Molveno e Tenno. An interesting fact is that the road between Cornelle and Dus was the old Roman route linking Riva del Garda and Tione through Ballino Pass and Durone Pass. Now follow SS 421 to the left, pass by loc. La Pineta and the archaeological site; after a bend to the left, pass on the bridge over stream Carrera and take the road bending towards the left side in the direction of loc. “Doss”, characterized by few partly refurbished farmhouses. Leave those buildings on your right and keep walking on the paved road surrounded by woods; you will arrive at the chapel of S. Apollonia, situated on the side of the main road. Continue on the left side to reach the centre of Fiavè. If you like, you can visit the stilt-houses Museum (info: 0465 735019).
How to get there
From Ponte Arche/Comano Terme follow SS 421 towards Fiavè (7 km).
Where to park
Parking lot (parking disc) in the central square of Fiavè or close by.
There is nowhere to stop off for refreshments along the trail so you are advised to bring water and something to eat

You need to be wearing the right clothing and take the proper gear when you go hiking in the mountains. Even on relatively short easy outings make sure to take all you need so you don't run into trouble if things take an unexpected turn, for example a storm blows up or you have a sudden drop in energy levels.

What should you take when you go on a hike?

What you should have in your rucksack (for a day trip a 25/30L capacity should do):

  • water canteen (1L)
  • snacks (e.g. mixed dried fruit or chocolate)
  • First aid kit
  • windproof jacket
  • fleece
  • change of t-shirt and socks (in a plastic bag)
  • make sure to wear or at least bring a pair of long trousers
  • hat
  • sun screen
  • sunglasses
  • gloves
  • whistle to attract attention in an emergency

Emergency telephone number:  112

Make sure you're wearing the right footwear for the trail and season. The going can get rough and rocky underfoot and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. When wet, a grassy slope, rocky slab or steep trail can be dangerous unless you are wearing the proper footwear.

And finally... ... don't forget to bring your camera! You'll need it to capture the stunning views you come across all over Garda Trentino. And if you like, you can share your memories with us at #GardaTrentino.
