A short loop within everyone’s capabilities, in the quiet area of Lake Cavedine, up to Monte Taglio di Sarca. This is an itinerary that is never demanding.

With a length of 9km and just over 100 meters altitude difference, the route is suitable for everyone. And if desired you can always make it longer by connecting it with route number 753. In this case, it is advised to start with 753, then continue on to 754 where their two paths meet.

From a technical point of view, the route develops largely on secondary roads and cycle paths: a mostly traffic free experience being one of the benefits.  The final part of the gravel road, which leads from Monte Taglio di Sarca to the lake, does not present any particular technical difficulties. In fact, the only real challenging parts can be found when ascending on the sometimes rather pronounced and unstable terrain.

Punto di partenza
Lake Cavedine - Trebi
Directions

The route’s start point is at the southern end of Lake Cavedine, in the locality of Trebi. Leaving in a northerly direction, following the asphalt road that runs along the stretch of water. Beyond the lake, continue straight ahead until you meet the signs for Pietramurata. Follow them, turning left and crossing the river, where you’ll find yourself on Via Cavedine, follow on this road toward the centre of the village.

Just before reaching the church, turn left - guided by the route signs for the Gaggio cycle path. Join it and continue on in the direction of Dro, until arriving at Monte Taglio di Sarca. The directions of the route here lead you to abandon the cycle path following an alternative path to your left. The initial stretch undulates through the undergrowth with stable enough, but quite large, pronounced rocks.

Once you have the lake in your sights, the descent that leads to the water level begins. Pass an old building - which used be a part of local power plant and follow the dirt track that runs along the lake, to find the route starting point.
