Stefano Ghisolfi - Ambassador Garda Trentino
I'm Stefano Ghisolfi, 27 years old, originally from Turin, where I started climbing. I learned about Arco thanks to Rock Junior in 2005, when I was 12 years old, and even then I fell in love with this place and Lake Garda.
Climbing started as a passion and it turned into my profession in 2012. I therefore began to think of moving to Arco, where I used to come every year, first for the youth championships and Rock Junior and then, since 2010, for Rock Master.
After having completed my studies at the University of Turin, in 2016 the time had come to realize my dream, also shared by Sara, my partner: we decided to move to Arco and so it was! For 4 years our life has revolved around the territory and climbing in Arco, Garda Trentino and Trentino all year round.
We travel a lot around the world, but we are happy to come home to climb the cliffs at home.
In 2018 I climbed one of the most difficult routes in the world, Perfecto Mundo in Spain, and then I repeated the most difficult route in Italy, Queen Line in Arco. Together with Adam Ondra we planned to try an even more difficult one, in the same crag.
Another result that I remember with great emotion is the silver medal at the World Cup in 2018, right at the Rock Master Stadium in Arco, with the cheering of my friends and relatives who came to see me from all over Italy.
A regular appointment every summer is a trip to the Serenella Cliff in Riva del Garda: you climb on the rock with the lake underneath you and when you fall, you dive into the water; it’s a particular climbing style that can be done in very few places and that's why it's fun!
In addition to climbing, I really like having an ice cream and eating a pizza with friends, two of the favourite things also for those who come on holiday to Garda Trentino.
