A brand-new panoramic lift that connects the historic centre of Riva del Garda with the Venetian Bastion in just two minutes (departure from Via Monte Oro).
The lift, which is made entirely of glass to give the maximum in terms of view, takes up the idea of the chair lift built in the 1950s and dismantled at the beginning of the 1980s, with respect to which the route was moved north, to the top of the slope on the slopes of the Rocchetta, directly below the Bastion.
Until now the Bastion was reached on foot with a walk of about half an hour; with the new lift it takes only two minutes, with a breath-taking panoramic view of the lake and the city which alone promises to be a remarkable attraction.
At the top, a Bar - Restaurant is available for an aperitif, lunch or dinner with an extraordinary view.
The departure station is in an underground building, the arrival station is located on the lower floor of the restaurant, hidden from the panoramic square in front of the tower. The climb is 208 meters long, with a difference in altitude of 130 meters.
The restaurant, which is located next to the tower that the “Serenissima” (the Venetian Republic) built between 1507 and 1508 on the border with the bishopric of Trento, has been completely renovated. The Bastione complex combines its strictly historical and architectural value with a strong landscape vocation, due to its elevated position which offers a wide view of the lake, the town of Riva del Garda and the entire basin of the Lower Sarca valley.
