Expo Riva Hotel – a targeted meeting point for the sector
The 42nd edition Expo Riva Hotel, scheduled from February 4th to 7th 2018 at the Riva del Garda (Trento) Exhibition Centre, continues to add to its programme of events for professionals working in Hospitality and Professional Catering. Four days of full immersion, where the sector’s very best companies will be on show, split into four large, themed areas, which have always been the key to success for Expo Riva Hotel: INDOOR & OUTDOOR CONTRACT; COFFEE & BEVERAGE; FOOD & ECO-WELLNESS & TECHNOLOGY. Important news for 2018 is the increase in training available at the exhibition with Expo Riva Hotel Academy, an entire hall dedicated to three projects: Hotel Management, RPM (Riva Planet Mixology) and SoloBirra (Just Beer). The first of these includes sixty seminars coordinated by Teamwork of Rimini, Italian leader in the field of hotel consultancy, covering the subject of hotel management, observing the latest trends and customer needs and future technological innovation. The two projects regarding the world of mixology and artisan beers will include meetings with top level expert bar-tenders and beer-makers such as Leonardo Veronesi, Claudio Peri, Alberto Foletto, Jonathan Di Vincenzo, Flavio Angiolillo, Luca Picchi, Samuele Ambrosi, Leonardo Pinto, Teo Musso and Lorenzo "Kuaska" and will give selected companies the chance for the public to get to know them. The ‘SoloBirra’ 2018 competition will be back with more entrants than ever. In the same hall and in conjunction with FIC, (the Italian Cooks’ Federation) and ‘Pizza & Pasta Italiana’ visitors will find ‘Morsi&Sorsi’ – all about food pairing: pizza & cocktails and pizza & beer, a dilemma to which we will try to find an answer. Added to this will be the question of pizza and mineral water food pairing, with the water sommelier, Luisito Perazzo.
Every year, Expo Riva Hotel is confirmed as one of the three most highly attended trade fairs in this sector, noted not only for the 26,000 plus visitors that registered at the last edition, but also for the quality of the exhibiting companies, for the important patronage of Federalberghi and Federturismo Confindustria and for the valuable, ongoing cooperation, year after year, that enhances the programme with events within the main event. Other than the afore-mentioned Italian Cooks’ Federation and Pizza & Pasta Italiana, other examples are ASAT (the Hoteliers’ and Tourist Business’ Association of the Province of Trento), the Rovereto and Levico Terme Professional Catering Training Institute (Alberghiero Trentino) and also UNAT, (the Hoteliers’ Union of Trentino) as well as ASPI – the Italian Association of Professional Sommeliers, AMIRA – the Association of Hotel and Restaurant Maîtres, the Association of Trentino Cooks, with a packed programme on patisserie, and the Mantua Cooks’ Association.
The numerous joint projects with associations and business linked to the world of food follow a trend which is seeing a growth in the interest towards Italy as a food & wine destination. This themed product grouping has led to ENIT, the Italian National Tourism Agency, laying down a three-year plan with incisive, targeted actions aimed at maximising this new style of travel which is appealing to an increasing number of followers.
The event in Riva del Garda not only offers a wide range of exhibition stands but is also a well-recognised and valued opportunity for meeting, training and business for the sector, with an ever-increasing eye on the changes taking place in the sector.
