Carnival 2012 offers an amazing comeback of the themed floats, that made the Arco Carnival famous all over Italy. All funny dresssed children can take part at the parade on the themed floats, and have fun. Colour, fancy dress costumes, music and good cheer. Arco Carnival transforms the streets of the historic town centre into “Arcoland, the town of fun and games”, a fun park for children with colourful houses, people on stilts, clowns, musicians and jugglers. An extensive programme of entertainment awaits adults too, with concerts, food and wine tasting in the square and fancy dress parties.
Traditional Festivities
There are many opportunities to take part in the traditional festivals held in the villages of Garda Trentino: the “Venerdì gnoccolaro” in Arco and Varignano di Arco (Friday, February 17th); the classic “sbigolade” in Torbole (Sunday, February 19th) and Nago (Tuesday, February 21st); the “Polenta e mortadella” fair in Varone di Riva del Garda (Sunday, February 26th); the ancient ritual which ends Carnival week, “L’alloro e il bambù” in Romarzollo di Arco (Sunday, February 26th).
